My Projects
Here are some of the projects I've worked on since starting my PhD
The current main project focuses on the Sleeping Beauty transposon, which can be used for genetic engineering and for CAR-T cell cancer immunotherapy.
PiggyMac and Ku70/Ku80 proteins
Paramecium tetraurelia has domesticated a PiggyBac-like transposase to facilitate precise genome-wide excision and rearrangements, regulated by Ku70/Ku80-like proteins.

Chimeric LOV Histidine Kinase
In naturally occurring Sensory Histidine Kinases, the PAS sensory domain has been replaced with a light-sensitive LOV domain to create a light-dependent two-component signal transduction system for optogenetic applications.
LOV photoreceptors
LOV (Light, Oxygen, Voltage) domains are a subset of sensory PAS domains. Typically, LOV domains are part of multi-domain proteins that regulate various light responses. They are also used as fluorescent tags.
